A February Beach Walk

1

On Saturday I drove out to the beach and had an amazing and refreshing 5km beach walk. I took my camera with me to take some photos, but my batteries died pretty quickly which was quiet funny. Bellow are some photos that I did manage to take at the beginning of my walk.

I love being close to water. The beach is definitely my happy place. The salty sea air, the gentle breeze, the sound of the waves, the blue sky above me, the soft sand bellow me, that horizon of blue on blue…The beach soothes my soul completely. I am a restless person, and by the sea is where I find peace and stillness that my heart desires.

During my walk I noticed some tourists lounging at resort gardens, reading books, some water sport enthusiasts, joggers and walkers, a couple of divers and surprisingly some swimmers. Those brave souls who went swimming are most definitely not from these parts. I am assuming that the weather we had over the weekend is an equivalent to a Russian or Nordic summer. I overheard the two lovely ladies, mother and daughter pair on the last photograph, speak Russian as they bravely disappeared inside the Mediterranean sea.

Overall the atmosphere was very calm and serene and perfect for walking. I cannot wait to return to the beach again! We are having some unusual rain this week on the island, but as soon as that clears up, I’m going back to the beach for some more R&R.
