Taking Travelling To The Next Level

I travel all over the world, every year. I love it and I cherish every memory I make in all the different locations. I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon but the fact is you can’t travel your entire life. Eventually, you’re going to have to find somewhere to settle down. But, as a traveller, you know that place isn’t going to be where you grew up. It’s going to be somewhere new, different and exotic. It’s going to be a place where you can wake up each morning and not be bored. I think that’s the secret about travellers. The main reason we stay on the road and in the air for so much of our life is because we would grow tired of one place for too long. That means when we settle, the location must be completely captivating.

But, I’m getting ahead of myself. First you need to think about how to settle down in a different region.

Start Looking

Occasionally, when I travel to somewhere truly incredible, I do find myself nosing around the property listings. Last time I was in France I found myself looking at luxury property in Cannes. These were gorgeous homes that one day I hope to be able to afford. I love travelling, but if I could wake up every day, greeted with that view? I think I might finally settle down. So, while you’re exploring the world don’t forget to now and then, take a breath. Let your mind wonder what it would be like to live your life in one place.

Think About The Cost

You will, of course, need to consider whether or not you can afford to make this kind of a life change. As a world traveller, I do on occasion, find myself living on pennies. Unfortunately, you can’t buy a home with pennies. It’s important that you plan, save and think about how you will afford it. I suggest you start saving some money, putting it in high-interest accounts. Or, you may want to start investing more of your income. You might even want to consider increasing your income. If you’re a traveller like me and you haven’t set up a blog, you’re doing it wrong.

By setting up a travel blog, you’ll attract advertisers. They’ll pay you to sponsor, review or write about the products and services that they sell. It’s a fantastic way to put a little extra cash in the bank.

Pick A Location

I’d love to tell you to choose a location to settle down by following your heart. Or to close your eyes and point to a random spot on the globe. However, it’s important that you think carefully about this decision and choose a place that is practical and safe. For instance, I would not recommend looking to settle in Greece right now due to the economic climate. It’s also probably not a good idea to think about somewhere like California because of the earthquakes. You need to look for somewhere that has a good climate with no extreme weather conditions. You should be thinking about how to protect your future investment.

Speak To An Estate Agent

Once you think you have found the perfect location, you should contact an estate agent. It’s important that you make sure you have found a reputable company. Many businesses are on the lookout for immigrants who wish to move over to profit off their losses. This practice is particularly common in certain regions of Spain. You may want to use a property broker to find the right home for you. They will put you in touch with sellers and let you get a taste for the market.

Buying The Home

After you find the perfect home and you’ve scrounged the money together you should consider purchasing it. Remember, it’s not just about settling down one day. You also need to think about it as a potential investment. Just because you’re buying doesn’t mean you need to stay there forever.

If you get bored, you can rent it out because you will have essentially bought the perfect holiday home. You’ll find lots of tourists willing to pay to stay there while you continue to travel the world. That’s one of the ways you can turn this little adventure into another source of income.

I hope you find this advice useful. Remember, I’m not suggesting you start thinking about settling down anytime soon. But you should always hold the idea in the back of your mind. Just in case you stumble on the location that is your dream come true.
