TBEX Opening Party – An Affair to Remember

When we got the news that the TBEX Opening Party would be a Beach Party, we were all super excited. The party was to be held at the beautiful Santa Cristina Beach and we had 3 different transportation options as our arrival to the party: Scenic longer boat ride along the coastline Direct boat ride to the beach (15 min) Arrival by bus for those arriving later Of course I picked the earliest 6:30pm departure by boat that opted for a longer scenic coastal route to the party.   Hi guys, Happy weekend & Happy Easter to those celebrating Easter this weekend. Today I am sharing with you a pretty yummy yet healthy Chocolate Orange cake recipe that I really love. Bringing Sunshine into the Kitchen

Saturday started off without sunshine, and so I decided I would bring some sunshine into my kitchen by baking delicious Oatmeal Cookies. 🙂 This was my first time baking oatmeal cookies, but there is no way you would ever guess that by sampling these. They were by far the best oatmeal cookies I’ve ever had in my life! I wasn’t sure what I would order as a birthday dessert in Rome, but I definitely gave it some thought prior to my arrival in Rome. When the evening of 14th of January arrived, after a full day of sightseeing, mum and I returned to our fave local restaurant spot and after dinner, ordered a Gluten Free Nutella pizza to share. Travel Journal: Spectacular Gluten Free Tiramisu in Rome

New Day, New Dessert After ordering a gluten free pizza for breakfast, I noticed 2 beautifully freshed prepared tiramisus in the dispaly window and I ordered a slice before my breakfast pizza arrived. It was so good! The tiramisu had a light and fluffy texture and it was absolutely delicious! I’ve had tiramisu in a few different countries, but there’s nothing like enjoying an Italian dessert in the country of its origin. Why you should eat at R’domus when in Porto

View of R’domus from the street During my first full day in Porto, after some sightseeing and a river cruise, I came across R’domus restaurant and I’m super happy that I did. There was a big sign on the street advertising their very affordable meal of the day which is what got my attention in the first place. Henrique, Paulo and Daniella, the three siblings that work at this local restaurant, are absolutely amazing! They really fed me well 🙂 In fact they fed me so well with their delicious food, I had to take dessert home, and that never happens! R’domus offers very tasty Portuguese food for a very low price. My suggestion for you is that you skip the little overpriced riverside tapas places and you come straight here for a proper full meal. You won’t regret it! Pastel de Nata: Portuguese Custard Tart

We are having another rainy day here Porto today. It’s been raining almost all day long, but I didn’t let the rain keep me indoors. About 20 minutes after I left the apartment, I saw that my camera batteries were low. I turned back around to grab 4 AA batteries from the apt, when I noticed this cute little coffee shop on the corner of the street. I took a peak at the window display and thought that now would be a perfect time to try the famous Portuguese Custard Tart. I got it to go and had a first bite back at the apt. The Nata shares some similarities to a Profiterole, however I find the profiterole cream much lighter and subtle in taste, whereas the Nata is quiet rich in taste, has thicker consistency and is sweeter. The pastry itself is very similar to a pie. This delicious little gem of a pastry should most definitely be on your must try list when in Portugal. Pasteis de Nata is also called Pasteis de Belem …
