Would You Swap Your Home For A Life On The Road?

For some people, there comes a time in their lives where they are fed up of routine. They want to do something different for a change, and they no longer wish to feel like they are part of the rat race. One of the obvious ways to give up on routine is to go traveling. As you can imagine, most people don’t have enough savings to fund year long road trips. To cover their expenses, they usually work while they travel. On the plus side, they don’t have to get depressed working the same boring job for years. Every role they do is temporary, and they can spend their pay visiting all kinds of interesting sights. As you can imagine, the lure of the road is too strong for many of us to avoid. But, would you be prepared to give up your home and have a life on the road? Here are some of the pros and cons of doing so: Pro: You get to live anywhere you want When you lead a “conventional” …

Alphabet: L is for LOVE

This week, let the alphabet be your inspiration: find a string of letters. Try a multi-photo gallery to collect images of single characters. Find some beautiful typography, or look for letters hidden in natural forms. I’m excited to see your ABCs! Love begins with yourself & is infinite thereafter.  Once you find it, you can never lose it.  Always choose Love – It will guide you on your journey in life. Stay true to yourself, your soul & your heart – Love Unconditionally, Always! 🙂 Photo Location: Shoreditch, London E1 To participate in this week’s photo challenge click here

A Little Bit of Photography: B&W London

As you’ve probably noticed I’ve just started the A Little Bit of Photography series. You will be able to find all photo series under the Photography tab on my home page. There are many days when I can’t use words, or to be more precise the right words. It’s not a block per se, but more like an extreme challenge where I just try to force myself to pick the right words to compose simple sentences which flow freely in my head, but just don’t make sense when they come out. Knowing that I’m just gonna waste a few hours achieving what isn’t going to come out right, sometimes I turn to music and photography. Painting would also be another option as well, although I haven’t focused as much on that lately. But never mind all that, let’s get back to photography. Here are some more Black & White photos from different parts of London. I will have another B&W photo post coming up which will be more on objects, still life, signs etc. I hope you enjoy these and if you …

Taking Travelling To The Next Level

I travel all over the world, every year. I love it and I cherish every memory I make in all the different locations. I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon but the fact is you can’t travel your entire life. Eventually, you’re going to have to find somewhere to settle down. But, as a traveller, you know that place isn’t going to be where you grew up. It’s going to be somewhere new, different and exotic. It’s going to be a place where you can wake up each morning and not be bored. I think that’s the secret about travellers. The main reason we stay on the road and in the air for so much of our life is because we would grow tired of one place for too long. That means when we settle, the location must be completely captivating. But, I’m getting ahead of myself. First you need to think about how to settle down in a different region. Start Looking Occasionally, when I travel to somewhere truly incredible, I do find myself …

Why Creative People Sometimes Make No Sense – Matthew Schuler

Photo by Sophia Alexis Are you a Creative type? Do you ever feel misunderstood? If you said yes to both, then have a look at this article: Why Creative People Sometimes Make No Sense If this sounds familiar to you, then you are very well aware of how hard it is to explain to someone all your complexities, all the parts of you that make you, you. It’s impossible. Creative types get it, other don’t. So I have a solution for, print this out & hand it out to every new person you meet. You can begin with this: Hi, I am ______ & I come with a manual. I wish you best of luck my creative friend! You should also keep in mind that not everyone will get you or like you, and that’s ok. Those who stick around, will get to see the real beauty inside you. Those that don’t obviously don’t matter.

Miss Annie Rorick

Starting today, I have 4 great friends flying in to Cyprus for the next 4 months! How exciting is that?? When you travel & move around a lot, you make friends everywhere & I think that’s pretty cool. For me, if I have a good connection with someone & we click well, they will be my lifelong friend and I can say that I’m pretty lucky to have met some incredible people along the way. The only thing that’s different for Travellers is that you can’t just go meet up for coffee when you want to see them & catch up. We wait months, sometimes even years to collide again somewhere on this planet in an unknown location & then catch up, explore & get to know each other all over again. It’s an exciting life, because you keep meeting awesome people wherever you go 🙂 La Jolla, California – Summer 2011 Back to the VIP visitors now. First up is my great friend from Ohio, Miss Annie Rorick who is on her way over here & is …

Change

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Change.” OK – The truth is I could have gone deeper with this one since Change is my middle name & I love to travel, but I picked this simple Before & After photo montage that takes place at the same location (Whitechapel Underground Station in London) during the same day, but both photos are taken at different times – In this case, before & after my work

Why I Don’t Own A Smart Phone

Earlier this year, sometime during Spring, my Smart Phone decided to quit on me. It just completely flatlined. Just like the next person, my first thoughts were OK What Phone Should I get Next? I always take my time to make a legit decision as I do my research & don’t really rush into anything, but this question has still not been answered… Of course at first it’s sort of weird not having a smart phone on you. I started using my old Nokia phone. It’s not a smart phone, but it’s still alive after all these years! After some time, I got used to using a simple phone. The things that followed were definitely happy surprises that I hadn’t expected. I started sleeping so much better! I remember the days when I had my iPhone, oh man! With all those notifications & cool blinking light notification and whatnot, I was always connected to my phone. I’m convinced that people who do not own an iPhone sleep a lot better and are less likely to develop …
