The UK Getaway

Planning a trip to the UK can be a big step – it can even take a lot of time to do if you’re living there. There is so much to explore, so many sights to see, but the beauty of it is is that it’s all on a relatively small island and is very accessible by multiple transport networks. You can drive absolutely anywhere; it may take a bit of time to get from Lands End to John O’Groats, but it is doable. This is something that you would have to take weeks to dedicate to in the United States, but it takes only a couple of days at a push in the United Kingdom. Choose where you want to go There are four whole countries to choose from in the United Kingdom – England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Each has their own different culture, and even their own languages (Welsh, Irish and Scottish Gaelic, Manx, Cornish just to name a few…). Don’t worry – you only need to know English to get …

A Little Bit of Photography: B&W London

As you’ve probably noticed I’ve just started the A Little Bit of Photography series. You will be able to find all photo series under the Photography tab on my home page. There are many days when I can’t use words, or to be more precise the right words. It’s not a block per se, but more like an extreme challenge where I just try to force myself to pick the right words to compose simple sentences which flow freely in my head, but just don’t make sense when they come out. Knowing that I’m just gonna waste a few hours achieving what isn’t going to come out right, sometimes I turn to music and photography. Painting would also be another option as well, although I haven’t focused as much on that lately. But never mind all that, let’s get back to photography. Here are some more Black & White photos from different parts of London. I will have another B&W photo post coming up which will be more on objects, still life, signs etc. I hope you enjoy these and if you …

A Little Bit of Photography: B&W London

London was home for me from October 1st 2012 – June 14th 2014, so all London related photos besides my 10 Hour London Layover are taken during this period in time. Below are photos from one of my favorite London tube stations & that’s the Liverpool Street Underground Station. This place is huge! You get a feeling like you are at an airport. There are tons of trains you can jump on from here and travel within different UK destinations. If you are arriving in London via Stansted Airport you can take a train or coach directly to the Liverpool Street Station. Liverpool street station is located on the Central Line (Red Line) which will also take you to the following major points of interest: Oxford Circus Bond Street Marble Arch Notting Hill Gate This station also has tons of shops and restaurants which is pretty awesome, as well as fresh fruit and flower stands. There are also some cool chocolate and coffee shops around too. My favorite coffee shop is the Caffe Nero right outside the station. Liverpool Street …

Change

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Change.” OK – The truth is I could have gone deeper with this one since Change is my middle name & I love to travel, but I picked this simple Before & After photo montage that takes place at the same location (Whitechapel Underground Station in London) during the same day, but both photos are taken at different times – In this case, before & after my work
